He came to USA in 1853 from Hesse, Germany 3 of his daughters came to USA before him. Johann's wife had died in 1852 in Germany. Johann and his children l ived in the town of Addison, WashingtonCounty, Wisconsin for 7 years before starting a farm just outside of Cadott, Chippewa County, Wis.

May have been born in Foughtrs, France.

Henry Ausman died in 1929 when he fell in the oats bin, his wife Caroline then rented the farm to Ed & Melvina Goetz in Oct 1929, Ed Goetz rented until 1940 when he bought the farm for $ 9,000 andsold the farm in May 1964 for $28,000 to Lavern Ausman.

The Dunn County Old Settlers' Association was organized at a meet ing

held in the court house on Saturday, Oct. 3, 1891, when a constitutionwas adopted . Henry Ausman, of Elk Mound, was elected president for the first year.
